Hoshizaki are very proud to be this year's major national sponsor of the Leukaemia Foundation's U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year campaign across Australia.

In 2010 we were the major sponsor in South Australia and Northern Territory, and supplied an ice maker to the winning pub in each state

U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year is a brilliant campaign that allows bartenders to have fun and build more meaningful relationships with customers and colleagues while helping others.

An acronym for Understanding, Generous, Likeable, You, the U.G.L.Y. Bartender campaign raises money to fund blood cancer research and support patients and their families affected by leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma diagnosis.

The campaign runs throughout November, with bartenders raising money for the Leukaemia Foundation using any fundraising method they can think of.

We enjoyed last year’s campaign so much we readily agreed to become the principal national sponsor.

Our involvement in 2010 reminded us how cancer affects more than the individual, and saw first hand how – particularly in regional areas – bars, pubs and clubs are at the heart of the communities that rally around to support the individual and their family.

The U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year campaign allows us to offer support in multiple ways, to a wider group.

A key component of this is the prize of one of our ice machines to the winning venue in each state, which will benefit the U.G.L.Y. bartender, their publican and their patrons.

The U.G.L.Y. Bartender team will soon be traveling around the country visiting all bars, pubs and clubs to recruit bartenders. For details prior, please see the U.G.L.Y. Bartender website.
