Hoshizaki are very proud to once again be this year's major national sponsor of the Leukaemia Foundation's U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year campaign across Australia.
In 2011 we extended our role as principal sponsor nationally, and are excited to continue our sponsorship in 2012, especially as it is now truly national, and includes the Queensland competition.
U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year is an invaluable campaign that allows bartenders to have fun and build more meaningful relationships with customers and colleagues while raising awareness and funds for The Leukaemia Foundation.
U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year now holds an even more important place for the Hoshizaki Lancer team, as this April, we farewelled our New Zealand Manager – Michael Abraham – who lost his battle with cancer.
So in 2012 – in addition to providing an ice machine to the highest fundraiser in each state – we will be presenting the Michael Abraham memorial trophy to the highest overall fundraiser.
This trophy will be a way of not only recognising Michael, but acknowledging how cancer affects more than the individual, and the importance that communities play in supporting the individual and their family and friends.
This year’s U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year campaign dates are:
- Queensland: 21 July to 3 September 2012
- All other Australian states*: 1 October to 9 November 2012
Registrations are currently open for Queensland bartenders and will open later in the year for the rest of Australia.
We will be posting updates, so check back regularly, or keep in touch with us via Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn or subscribe to our eNewsletter.
