The Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute is a $153 million medical research centre that officially opened in April 2009 at the Monash University Clayton campus.
Established through a joint venture between Monash University and the Victorian Government, the Institute builds on the University's existing strengths in biomedical research, and supports the critical infrastructure required to deliver the next generation
of discoveries in regenerative medicine.
Many processes & experiments within the new Monash Science Technology Research & Innovation Precinct (STRIP) require the use of flaked ice and in some instances, large quantities. With any equipment specified the emphasis is also on efficiency, reliability, durability, hygiene and sanitization.
There are three, four storey main buildings making up the STRIP with a mix of tenants from varying corporate enterprises to the University itself.
The task was to supply ice flaker machines that would be universally accepted amongst the numerous tenants and to provide access to sub contractors who could undertake the servicing, cleaning and sensitization of the units.
The Government Tender Document was quite rigid in its specifications relating to the machine production, storage and operation.
Hoshizaki Ice Machines submitted to tender seven units of the FM251AFE flaker ice machines on B300SF ice storage bins.
The response has been so overwhelmingly positive that we have been specified as the preferred ice manufacturing equipment within the Universities. The quality of the flaked ice, the manufacturing and build quality of the machine and bin,
the excellent reputation of Hoshizaki Ice Machines and the ability to provide after sales service in relation to cleaning and sanitizing, allowed for a unified acceptance of our equipment by all of the stakeholders.
